This variety is known for its exceptional flavor and easy processing in many food dishes including corn bread, grits, hominy, corn meal, tortilla flour and even old time roasting ears. Stalks grow 8-10′ tall producing ears 7-8″ long. Ears have ten to twelve rows of very large white kernels. Considered the best variety for hominy because the skin of the kernel is easily removed by soaking. Husks are tighter than most varieties and give excellent protection from beetles and earworms. High leafy green matter which can also be used for silage.
