Horse Hay Mix
We developed this mixture with horse owners in mind. When someone mentions horse hay, there are multiple opinions of what horse owners want. The horse hay mix is a balance between alfalfa and grasses. Many horses do not need pure alfalfa in their diet for many reasons. The alfalfa provides protein for the horse ration, but also nitrogen for the growing grasses. It is a win-win situation. This mixture can also be grazed. It is important to rotate the animals across this as the alfalfa will not tolerate overgrazing.
Formulation: Alfalfa, Ryegrass, Timothy, Orchard Grass

Planted all 10 seeds but only 5 germinated. It was strange summer weather so I'm sure that had something to do with it. I'm in zone 6 outside of St Louis. However, that being said, this was the absolute BEST melon ever. So sweet...everyone agreed on that. No disease at all. Amazing. Harvested a total 41 melons. Planted them May 18th. They germinated May 24th. Harvested the first group of 7 from Aug1st-6th. They all weighed over 6lbs. I continued harvesting through Oct 22nd. They started getting smaller throughout the growing season. The largest 6.50lbs. The smallest 2.31. Will definitely plant again.
