Enormous yellow flowers with brown centers up to 12″ across bear heavy loads of plump striped seeds. Great for creating a sun forest, hedge or screen. Edible seeds attract woodpeckers and squirrel and make great snacks. To save seeds, cut stem beneath flower heads when the backs of the flower heads turn yellow. Hang upside down and let dry in a cool dry place for about a month. Cover with netting or a paper sack with holes to keep seeds from falling. 9-10 weeks to flowering. Avg. 3000 seed/lb.
