Biochar Soil Amendment

SKU: 5G3LS430K7NG5K30

100% Natural :: Biochar is produced in a way that creates high carbon levels and it is incredibly porous. These pores help retain water and provide a cozy home for micro-organisms to grow and stores nutrients. Mycorrhizal fungi takes up residence in biochar and proliferates by abundant sporulation, sending whisker-thin hyphae out into soil to search for water and nutrients, pumping them back to fungi that lives in the biochar. Each bit of biochar becomes a host for bacteria and fungi, whose presence anchors the rest of the soil biology. Biochar thus becomes an active storehouse to stockpile essential nutrients. Their interactions provide a natural way to make nitrogen and other important elements readily available to the roots, increasing the cation exchange capacity of your soil. Studies have shown that the benefits of biochar include reducing the potential of disease in your soil. As the bacteria and fungi thrive so do the natural processes that make your plants grow.
– Supports soil microbial life and biodiversity
– Helps plants resist diseases and pathogens
– Improves fertilizer utilization, by reducing leaching from the root zone

Great place! The seed variety is great

Planted all 10 seeds but only 5 germinated. It was strange summer weather so I'm sure that had something to do with it. I'm in zone 6 outside of St Louis. However, that being said, this was the absolute BEST melon ever. So sweet...everyone agreed on that. No disease at all. Amazing. Harvested a total 41 melons. Planted them May 18th. They germinated May 24th. Harvested the first group of 7 from Aug1st-6th. They all weighed over 6lbs. I continued harvesting through Oct 22nd. They started getting smaller throughout the growing season. The largest 6.50lbs. The smallest 2.31. Will definitely plant again.
