Guardian Yellow
$4.30
24″ Bright golden blooms on sturdy plants that attract pests like thrips away from veggies. Great for garden borders and natural pest control.
How to use Guardian marigolds as thrip traps:
Guardian marigolds act as trap plants, intercepting thrips before they reach your main crop.
When combined with predatory mites and fungal agents, they form a self-sustaining ecological control system.
Start marigold seeds 4–6 weeks before planting vegetables like tomatoes or peppers.
Place marigolds in clusters (2–3 per spot) every 6–10 feet in rows or garden bed or plant 1 row of marigolds for every 3 to 5 rows of the main crop, especially near young plants.
Since thrips are highly attracted to marigolds and often appear on them up to 2 weeks earlier than on sticky traps, makes marigolds an excellent early-warning system and keeping them off your main crops.
If a marigold shows heavy thrip damage, pull and compost it, then replant.
