Soil Sample Analysis : Standard Test T1

Test don’t guess. Proper soil fertility is the foundation for plant health. A soil test is one’s best single guide in determining the strength of each link in the plant nutrient chain. The weak link sets the ceiling on crop yield potential. A soil test identifies the weak link or links.
A standard soil test will provide information on soil pH, cation exchange capacity (CEC), organic matter, lime requirements and base saturation. The soil test will also provide the status of phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg). For additional fees, soil testing can include information on iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn),soluble salts (Na) and copper (Cu) as well as a few other elements.

Instructions:

Dig 4-6 inches deep in 4 or 5 different locations for improved accuracy.

Place a total of 2 cups of soil in a clean Ziploc bag

Label the bag with the garden size in feet (approximate) and location the sample was drawn from; e.g. Garden or Orchard.
